International Conference on The Future of Storytelling

Pune 16 March 2019: While in our childhood, evenings were a window to a world beyond television, where our grandmothers told stories that were immersive, evoked strong emotion, and created magic, it was indeed the perfect art of storytelling. Today
with nuclear families and increased digital time, technologies have taken over, but the key to storytelling remains the same, that is good content. This was expressed by all storytelling experts from various domains at the two day International Conference on ‘The Future of Storytelling’ organized by Ajeenkya DY Patil School of Film and Media at it’s Charholi campus.
Chief Guest Mokeme Chitewal, MD and CEO–Alice Alfred International Nigeria, Key Note speaker and former MD of NVIDIA Jaya Panvalkar , Liu Yu , MD and CEO Giantview China, Jesh Krishna Murthy CEO and Founder Anibrain , Sameer Dhamangaonkar co-Founder Snovel creations, Dr Manju Rughwani Head School of Film and Media were present on the occasion. More than 45 research papers from India and abroad were presented on the occasion.
Jaya Panvalkar– former MD of NVIDIA said that we have grown listening to our grandmothers, but internet and technologies have become a norm today. Content
creators are still important and they must work with domain experts coupled with
technology to create an immersive experience. Ultimately it is the creative people who
should drive the content creation. So creative talent will assume greater importance. Jesh Krishna Murthy CEO and Founder Anibrain storytelling has always only been about the user experience, our grandmothers knew it better than anybody else. Story telling is timeless. The future of storytelling is exactly what has been. Although we are flooded with technologies, storytelling is about narrative , emotions and it creates an experience and it is the experience that we don’t forget. Good content will always work as the core still remains the story and not the medium.

Dr Manju Rughwani-Head-ADYPU-School of Film & Media said that Storytelling has always been central to human experiences. Story changes people’s minds, provides key to understanding. The Conference was aimed to build on the global insights as to show how a story is used by media & entertainment professionals,
brands and by non-profits. It aimed to explore the futuristic digital technologies in the world of media & entertainment industries.
