The purpose behind this visit was to offer students invaluable insights into the multifaceted operations of a newspaper, spanning gathering and reporting news, fact-checking, design, editing, sales, marketing, circulation, and digital promotion.
The day commenced with a foundational session on news basics, led by Ms. Archana and Editor Avinash, who delved into the essential 5W1H approach. The Design team head provided insights into design and layout, acquainting students with software like Adobe InDesign and PageMaker.
Mr. Naved Anjum, the Chief Operating Officer of Pune Mirror, offered a comprehensive overview of advertisement orders. The Circulation Team Head elucidated the intricacies of distribution and circulation-auditing. Archana Vohra, Head of Social Media & Digital, shared valuable digital promotion strategies, emphasizing the importance of SEO and effective content promotion in the digital age.
